We centre those at the frontiers of the climate crisis, create spaces where frontline communities can form connections with diverse stakeholders in the climate conversation, and support the innovations that emerge when people who are different share the same space on equal terms.

Care as an Ethos

When we bring care to the work of addressing the climate crisis, the communities most impacted don’t remain silent participants in finding solutions. They become its most essential authors, and the loudest voices in the room. That’s why care is not incidental to our approach. It is foundational – making it possible for everyone to come together to co-create and innovate on equal terms.

The People

Neha Saigal

Neha is a facilitator, network weaver, writer, and community organiser whose work sits at the intersections of gender, climate, and regenerative systems of change. She began her journey as an environmental campaigner and went on to co-build programmes with grassroots communities on health, education, and social security.

Over the past four years, Neha has co-created the Gender and Climate Network with Asar and developed a knowledge base and set of resources that support others working on intersectional climate issues. Her work focuses on weaving communities, nurturing reflective spaces, and fostering leadership that is grounded in care and collective learning.

In India, Neha has worked with organisations such as Asar, Greenpeace, IPE Global, Haiyya, and the Azim Premji Foundation. Internationally, she collaborates with Mobilisation Lab, Hyper Island, and the Swedish Institute, and is actively engaged with global collectives exploring alternative economies and post-growth futures.

At Climate & Care Collective, she probes for answers to the question that has shaped her entire career: What becomes possible when the people closest to the crisis are finally trusted to lead the response?

Rina D’Souza

Rina D’Souza is an educator, leadership and culture coach, and trainer dedicated to fostering safe, inclusive, and care-centered organisational environments. She began her career as a teacher at the Canadian International School. Her subsequent teaching experience at the Centre for Learning, Bangalore, helped her develop a deep commitment to experiential learning and community-driven education.

Over the years, Rina has led initiatives focused on enhancing and developing best practices that balance protection, wellbeing, and agency of frontline communities. Her expertise extends to shaping people and culture functions within civil society organisations, with a focus on aligning values, relationships, and organisational health.

Rina has worked with Greenpeace, Dakshin Foundation, and STIR Education, where she has brought an integrative approach to leadership, grounded in empathy, reflection, and collaboration. Her current work continues to bridge the worlds of learning, well-being, and social change, reimagining leadership as an act of care.

With her work at Climate & Care Collective, she returns to her roots, helping individuals and communities respond to climate change and its impact on their lives with confidence and purpose.
